Serving Community Needs

Sickle Cell Awareness Month: "What's Your Blood Type?" Event

In recognition of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, HATS is thrilled to share the success of our "What's Your Blood Type?" session.

In recognition of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, HATS is thrilled to share the success of our “What’s Your Blood Type?” session held at E10 on Wednesday. Despite the busy schedule between school runs and PTS, the event was a tremendous success, thanks to the outstanding participation of our staff.

The Blood Donor Team visited to assess our team members and book appointments for those willing to give the invaluable gift of life. We had twenty incredible staff members join us, and an inspiring seventeen of them signed up to donate blood! In just one hour, each donation has the potential to save up to three lives, showcasing the remarkable impact of community and compassion.

Sickle cell disease, which is more prevalent among individuals of African or Caribbean descent, often requires regular blood transfusions every 4-6 weeks for effective management. Receiving blood from a donor with the same ethnicity provides the best possible treatment and care.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. Your willingness to contribute and make a difference could have a lasting impact on many lives.
