HATS had the privilege of transporting Beyond Sight Loss to a thrilling fast car experience in Leicester, where participants got a taste of high-speed excitement. The group, consisting of individuals who are blind or partially sighted, had the unique opportunity to enjoy something many of us take for granted, the adrenaline rush of fast cars. Thanks to the guidance of skilled professionals, they were able to safely take part in this incredible experience, fulfilling a dream for many who have a deep passion for cars but, due to their sight loss, are typically unable to enjoy such activities. It was a truly memorable and empowering day for everyone involved.  

This unforgettable experience would not have been possible without the support of our two incredible drivers, Abdullahi Warsame and Saydur Rahman. Not only did they ensure safe transport to and from the event, but they also went above and beyond by staying behind to volunteer.

“To be able to sit behind, the wheel of a car is absolutely mind-blowing, to be able to sit behind the steering wheel of a supercar such as the Lamborghini you can imagine what that does to the mind. I had so many mixed emotions when I was behind the wheel of the car as I know this is something I would never be able to do because of my sight loss, but the feeling I got from doing this was so thrilling. I left feeling very happy and in high spirits.

Beyond Sight Loss members all came with a buzz and a full of achievement and excitement, which was so nice to see. Thank you to the HATS drivers, without their support, we would never be able to get to any of these venues as they are not close to a station. We appreciate the drivers giving up their time and getting involved with helping us.”
