The HATS team are delighted to inform you of some fantastic work done by our colleagues in our Birmingham Operating Centre.
“Let’s Feed Brum” is a homeless support charity that works with vulnerable individuals, particularly the homeless, in Birmingham. “Let’s Feed Brum” organises some amazing activities including:
Breakfast clubs
Dinners
Football events
Finding shelter for people
Twice a week they walk the streets of Birmingham in the evenings to find shelter for people, donate clothes, toiletries etc.
This incredible work and was recently recognised when they became the proud recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2022.
On Saturday the 22nd of April, Donal Huggan and Timothy Allen (who are both drivers in our Home to School Department and are based in our Birmingham Operating Centre), collected some of the individuals Let’s Feed Brum work with and took them an Eid Dinner before attending a football match at Birmingham Football Club.
The photos below show what a great time the group had and we received some wonderful feedback including “Ee cannot thank you enough for your amazing support last weekend. Transportation is always the most difficult thing to sort when organising a charity event especially for so many people (this group size was more than normal). Everything worked perfectly and we could not have given these vulnerable people such a great day without your support and help” and “Special mention to driver Donal who was a superstar and could not do enough to make everyone smile”.
A big thanks to Kemoy Scott for making this happen.
